Jason Lytle

Jason Lytle is very proud to lead the students and staff of Myers, home of the Myers Peace Train. He has served as principal since 2019.

As an educator for more than 20 years, Lytle has served as a teacher, teacher coach, dean of students, and principal. His work with children in all grades from elementary through high school and across public, private, charter, rural, suburban, and urban communities has given him a unique perspective and allowed him to connect with students and families and improve student outcomes. These experiences include tenures in the School District of Philadelphia, KIPP Philadelphia Charter School, and Milton Hershey School Edward Hand Elementary School in Lancaster, Pa.

In his short time at Myers, he has led the school community to improved outcomes, which include growth on district and state assessments and three consecutive years of state recognition for implementation of Tier I PBIS. Lytle and the Myers community of students, staff and parents remain dedicated to “empowering students for the world of tomorrow through developing the total child,” and celebrating the diversity of the Myers community.

Prior to joining Myers, Lytle was a principal in North Philadelphia, and led the 500 students of Hartranft school community on a turn-around effort with tremendous success and dynamic growth. This growth centered on his work in the areas  of instructional leadership, school culture, and using data to improve academic and behavioral outcomes.

While at Hartrant, Lytle received recognition from the district, local community and city for his impact on his students, student outcomes and the community. This impact included year-over-year improvement on state assessments and receiving recognition for being a district leader in growth according to SDP school progress reports growth metrics for three consecutive years.

He also led the Hartranft  students and school community in cultivating a safe, respectful and responsible school culture, earning state recognition for implementation of Tier I PBIS for four consecutive years and leading his team as presenters at the statewide PAPBS Implementers Forum.

Lytle graduated from Millersville in 2001 with a B.S. in secondary education (social studies concentration), and completed an M.S. in educational administration (with a 4.0 GPA) from Gwynedd Mercy in 2011.
